Brief Description:  Rudder skin

Cut rudder skin stock to 37-51/64" per plan. Tried cutting with a 3" cutoff wheel, but it was slow going due to my whimpy compressor. Used a pneumatic nibbler, which worked fine. Left about 1/16" of extra material and finished to length with a hand file. Trimmed back plastic cover along rivet lines with a wood burning iron I had around. Along with assorted tips was a nice 1/2 round ball shaped one which worked well to trim the plastic. Layed out rivel hole locations. Shimmed the hinge up .057" with some flat washers I had that were just the right thickness. This is detailed on sheet ONX-T06 section B-B. Drilled #40 holes into the rudder skin along the hinge line. Only did the outermost lip since the exact location of the inner edge will be determined by the ribs. Decided to do this now to locate the holes on the rudder that are referenced from the hinge rivet location.

Sheet ONX-T09 complete

Checked with Sonex ref an error on dwg ONX-T-09, part -03 and -04. Qty for -03 should be 2, qty for -04 should be 1. This agrees with what is shown on ONX-T-06-02.
